To be honest, I didn't find out that later updates were included in the dev logs until today, as it only shows the time of the first release.It is suggested that Mofu change this.
You have to find the mushroom dog and feed it any mushroom. After that, you'll need the dog to follow you to where that girl is and when you see the prompt, click it to begin the battle.
I believe Mofu-san has stated in the past that if possible, they'd like to add another cow character at some point but with a redesign, due to a controversy earlier in the year.
